Choose a Center of Excellence for a successful transplantation
Not all care facilities treat patients with the same quality of care. With a procedure as important as transplantation it's important to choose a hospital with proven success.
But it's difficult to know how to find an exceptional provider on your own.
In an initiative led by the State of Minnesota and the Joint Labor Management Committee on Health Plans, your three health plans have worked together to evaluate and identify the following hospitals as Centers of Excellence. We have identified locations that do transplantations for:
- Heart;
- Heart-lung;
- Liver;
- Kidney;
- Pancreas;
- Kidney-pancreas;
- Blood and marrow: allogeneic and autologous; and
- Small intestine.
Plus, when you’re admitted to a Center of Excellence, you do not have to pay an inpatient hospital copay!
Please note: The hospital must be a current contracted transplant provider in your plan’s network for you to have your procedure at that hospital and for your copay to be waived. Please see kidney-pancreas and marrow above. Call AHA for questions.
